(Mnemonic Note) Think of raising your hands in submission, like when you no longer want to continue controlling something yourself or when some gnarly dude is pointing a gun at you and says "stick ?em up".
Variations:
Some people begin this sign with "S" fists which change to "5" hands; otherwise the motion is the same.
Definition:
To yield or submit is to give up control of something. When you yield your life to Jesus you acknowledge that you are not in control, but God is. You are saying that you will obey His will without protest.
